We are happy to announce two new projects on American soil.

The first one, a 70-bus project in Ohio, comes through one of our long-term white-label customers. The second one, a 25-bus project in Arizona, comes through Icomera U.S. (www.icomera.com) that we have been working with since 2018.

The projects will be deployed in the next six months.

After intense development the last few months, we are pleased to announce two major product enhancements

  1. New Journey API
The newly released API makes integration between a partner’s passenger information system (PIS) and GeoSignage CMS super simple. Providing the API with data about the route, next stops and other journey-related information, GeoSignage CMS can be used to design the traffic information displayed to the passengers as well as associate other content like advertisement or tourist information with events like “Arriving Central Station”.

  2. Support of GTFS Realtime
With the ability to consume a GTFS-RT feed GeoSignage CMS can fetch and show estimated arrival times of upcoming stops and display connections at transit hubs. This is without any middleware software.

34 new buses in Denmark will be equipped with GeoSignage CMS in the next year. The new project comes via a white-label partner.

On Tuesday and Wednesday next week, our CEO Johan Posse is attending the IT-Trans Expo in Karlsruhe, Germany. Reach out if you want to have a meeting!

Last week a 1000+ bus project came live in Gwangju Metropolitan City, South Korea. Our partner Nine Hightech launched its service with on-board displays showing entertainment, traffic information, advertising and local weather information with the concentration of pollution. GeoSignage provides the digital signage CMS that drives the displays. We are thrilled to enter a new market in Southeast Asia and we look forward to more projects together with our new partner.

In the next months, GeoSignage deploys a 100-bus project in Scandinavia with one of our long-term customers (using GeoSignage white-labelled CMS solution). As the Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the world and public transportation, we hope this new business is a sign that things are heading back to normal.

The GeoSignage CMS has long been a very appreciated and reliable system to improve passenger satisfaction in public transport. Now we extend our portfolio with a newly developed Automatic Vehicle Announcement System (AVAS) to help our partners and customers to provide passengers with accurate trip information. Compared to our CMS, our AVAS is a more powerful tool for configuring announcements, which together with our CMS will cover the absolute majority of the market requirements for on-board infotainment.

With the newly developed AVAS GeoSignage can take a larger responsibility towards our partners and customers in order to meet all requirements from public transport authorities.

“This is a great contribution to our portfolio. In the past we seen that potential partners and customers many times associate GeoSignage with only providing a system for on-board advertisements. With our new AVAS, I believe it will be very clear that we truly are an infotainment company offering the entire system suite, providing both passenger information at the right time and place while still enabling commercial opportunities with a powerful CMS for controlling messages and advertisements on-board.” – Carl Schander, Business Development Manager.

One of the benefits with using GeoSignage CMS has always been that the software can be installed and run well on almost any hardware. Time has proven the system to be extremely reliable, which the new AVAS benefits from since both systems use the same system foundation. This makes the GeoSignage AVAS a competitive, user friendly and reliable choice regardless of where in the world the system is to be used.

The GeoSignage AVAS is easily integrated with most existing on-board systems and can be up and running within very short time. Contact our sales department to learn more about how your company can benefit!

From today GeoSignage CMS is used to drive screens onboard 120 new buses in the southeast part of Sweden. The technology is introduced by Blekingetrafiken, the PTA of the region. GeoSignage CMS is used to provide passenger information, news, entertainment and advertisement. Blekingetrafiken’s press release can be read here (Swedish).

Long-haul bus operator Swebus has now installed its first buses with an infotainment solution provided by Icomera, in cooperation with GeoSignage. GeoSignage is contributing its CMS and media computer, to manage and serve content on Swebus’ displays.

This is the first delivery of GeoSignage own media computer, developed to lower the entry barrier to infotainment by offering a low cost, high reliability and easy maintenance.

In total, Swebus will install 37 buses with the infotainment solution.
